Pyrite formation in the water column and sediments of a meromictic lake, Suits and Wilkin, (1998), Geology, 26:1099-1102. PDF File Abstract
Take home message:
Oxic and euxinic sediments in Green Lake cannot be distinguished on the basis of concentrations of organic carbon or pyrite, degree of pyritzation or sulfur isotopic ratios of pyrite, BUT can be distinguished using size distributions of pyrite framboids.
